Promoting forest certification has been at the heart of Metafore’s mission for over a decade and since 2001, our Forest Certification Resource Center (FCRC) has served the certified products marketplace with a comprehensive public search tool that has enabled users to search and find products that originate from certified sustainably managed forests. Connecting certified manufactures, brokers, distributors, retailers and consumers has helped to create a marketplace that recognizes the value of certified, sustainably managed forests and forest products. We have been gratified by the accolades that the FCRC search tool has earned since its inception. More gratifying still is the role that it has played in fostering the marketplace for certified products.

The funding required to maintain a complete and reliable public search tool is no longer available to us and, as a result, we are, reluctantly, forced to disable the search tool effective on October 15.

The database that powers the searches will remain intact and continues to have the capability to provide customized search tool interfaces such as Certification Canada (http://www.certifiedwoodsearch.org/certificationcanada/searchproducts.aspx).
